We’re looking for: Chair of Board
Our vision is to transform everyone’s life through exceptional music.
Welcome
Since being founded in 1972, Manchester Camerata has never stood still.
In the last year alone, Manchester Camerata has launched a fellowship programme investing in the next generation of musicians in the North of England, was awarded the UK’s first Centre of Excellence for Music and Dementia, and gained numerous 5-star national reviews for both our classical work and contemporary presentations.
They even celebrated the launch of their newest concert season with the national release of their own beer ‘Support Your Local Orchestra’.
Be it touring Mozart internationally at the highest level, opening the pyramid stage at Glastonbury festival with an orchestral rave, or working intimately with people living with dementia, Camerata believes in the power of music to change people’s lives.
Our focus is on our clear strategic vision and plan that sets out our long-term objectives and the policies and procedures in place to deliver them.
The organisation is on a fantastic trajectory and we are looking to enable transformational growth to secure the foundations for our next half a century and beyond. In another 50 years time we want Manchester Camerata to be continuing to nurture innovative talent, driving our sector forward and creating meaningful human connections for everyone.
To fulfil its mission, Manchester Camerata should not and will not stand still. That means translating our words into action and challenging the way we think and the way we work. It is only by operating on the edge of what is comfortable that we learn and define new possibilities for the role of music in driving change.
And always, what sits at the core of our decision making, is a strong set of values and principles that underpin everything that we do. Those values will continue to shape the way we work and we look forward to welcome a new values-driven Chair to enable us to take the next steps in our journey.
